Neighborhood Awards

Every year each district council names three individuals or organizations who have made significant contributions to our neighborhoods.

The people named to this city-wide Neighborhood Honor Roll are honored at a ceremony each January, and their names are added to the list of great neighbors gracing the walls outside City Council Chambers (3rd floor, City Hall, 15 W. Kellogg Blvd.).

Following is a video from the 2010 Awards Ceremony:

If you know of someone, or some local business or organization that you think deserves recognition for the positive example they set, download the nomination form by clicking here and email it to the District 1 Council at district1council@aol.com. Honorees are selected in November, notified soon thereafter, and sent invitations to the January event in late December or early January.

The district council also has a Good Neighbor Award with similar criteria to the Honor Roll. We give these awards at our Annual Meeting in March. You can use the same form to nominate someone for this District 1 award.

Other awards that District 1 residents have received are related to Parks. But if you know of other awards that you would like to make sure we are aware of, give us a call at 651.578.7600.

Let’s celebrate the good things that are happening in our area, and the great work that our neighbors do for us all!!

Getting involved in your neighborhood and community is as easy as contacting the District 1 Office.
