How do I dispose of electronics?

The first thing to ask is whether the electronics are still usable.

If they are, consider posting them (or other reusable items) on www.twincitiesfreemarket.com. This website allows you to let others know you have something that might be useful to them. They can come and pick it up and it will stay out of the waste stream.

Another possibility for used computers is to donate them or other electronics to schools.

If you don't want computers, for example, to be reused without first being completely scrubbed of your personal information, you can contact Asset Recovery, Inc. directly at 651.602.0789 and pay to have them recycle or reuse what they can after completely cleaning the hard drives.

Finally, every fall, District 1 holds a community clean up where you can bring your unwanted stuff for a fee to have it recycled.
