Where do I take my yard waste?

If you don't have your own compost bin, you can take grass clippings, leaves and soft-bodied plants to the County compost site on Winthrop just off of Londin Lane. Brush must be taken to a different site at Frank St. and Sims Ave (it also accepts soft yard waste).

The Winthrop site is open March 27 – Nov 29 (weather permitting) MWF 11 am – 7 pm, Sat 9am – 5 pm, and Sun 11 am – 5 pm.

The site at Frank and Sims is open these dates for the same hours, but is also open from December through March one weekend a month — Jan. 13-14, Feb. 10-11, and March 10-11. The hours are Sat. 9 am — 5pm and Sun. 11 am - 5 pm.
